Christmas in California!

Merry Christmas!
Despite the lack of snow, which resulted in a not-so-white Christmas, we enjoyed every bit of our sunny southern California Christmas day. On Christmas Eve we headed over to Great Grandmother and Great Grandpa's house where we dined in fancy dresses that GGMA gave us. Thomas and I were glad that Christmas morning didn't come too early. The girls are still too young to really know why one should wake up at the crack of dawn...for that, we are thankful. In fact, we had been telling Katin for the last couple weeks that the lights and trees and decorations were all for Jesus's birthday and, naturally, that called for baking some cupcakes. She couldn't wait. Every day she would "ask" if it was time to make Jesus cupcakes. When they were finally coming out of the oven she literally sat and watched them cool...helped frost them...and quickly grabbed a candle letting us know she was ready to sing.
"Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday dear Jesus..."
So after a 10am Jesus cupcake the day could have been over. She was so content. Presents...who needed presents. She loved that cupcake so much she ate every little crumb and bit of frosting.
But, onto the gifts. She was, of course, very excited for her new items. Thanks Grandmas, Grandpas and Aunt Beppy! Legos, crayons, coloring books, puzzles, doctor kit, a cloud, (yes, a cloud) dolls, warm boots for Colorado! We love it all! And the best part was that during nap time I made room for all the new toys. (wink wink) She'll never know what's missing :)
Aubrey's first Christmas was fabulous too! She loved all the paper and bows and ribbons and she even ate a gift tag. That little Aubrey...
From our hearts to yours...we hope you had a very Merry Christmas and that this year you would experience the joy of a Jesus Cupcake.
Love, The Milburns

Sunny Christmas Day...the CU shirts (along with a giant CU BUFFS flag) were just a subtle hint for Harrison (who recently got accepted to be a mighty buffalo)

Katin, what is this? Why did they stick us in a stocking? Oh Aubrey, get used to it...happens every year.

I think this one's mine!

I know...she even put tights on us.

Merry Christmas to All! Anyone wanna chime in on how long their tree stays up?

  1. I feel as though your last question is directed towards me (guilty conscience?)... and I plead the fifth. As you so appropriately pointed out, there is indeed a country song written about me somewhere out there. Merry Christmas, sweet friend!

  2. Well we did not have a white Christmas either. Just cold enough to snow and that is even worse. I heard only 29% of the nation had a white Christmas. Your girls look darling in their dresses and I love your bangs! Merry Christmas!
